{"id":4911,"date":"2026-06-15T08:54:04","date_gmt":"2026-06-15T06:54:04","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/catedrachip.upc.edu\/?p=4911"},"modified":"2026-06-15T11:54:45","modified_gmt":"2026-06-15T09:54:45","slug":"electronics-summer-camp-infinity-mirror-with-programmable-leds","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/catedrachip.upc.edu\/en\/electronics-summer-camp-infinity-mirror-with-programmable-leds\/","title":{"rendered":"Hacksummer 2026: Democratize Artificial Intelligence and build the future!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hackestiu 2026 is a summer programming competition organized by the <a href=\"https:\/\/catedrachip.upc.edu\/en\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">CHIP Chair<\/a> of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.upc.edu\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Polytechnic University of Catalonia<\/a> with the collaboration of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.qualcomm.com\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Qualcomm<\/a> .<\/p>\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group is-nowrap is-layout-flex wp-container-core-group-is-layout-ad2f72ca wp-block-group-is-layout-flex\">\n<p>The challenge is to use the technology of an <a href=\"https:\/\/store.arduino.cc\/products\/arduino-uno-r4-wifi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arduino Uno Q<\/a> \u2014supplied by Qualcomm\u2014 to create a project that contributes to democratizing the use of Artificial Intelligence, making it more accessible, more useful and closer to people.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n<p><strong>The theme is free. See the <strong>rules<\/strong> for details. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Submit your proposal Fill out the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/forms.gle\/wFWmf7wQj7tgZ7p98\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-cyan-blue-color\">application form<\/mark><\/a><\/strong> with the following information:<ul><li class=\"\">Team compositionDescription of the project you want to developAdditional hardware you need (in addition to the Arduino Uno Q)<\/li><\/ul>Deadline: Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at 11:59 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Wait for confirmation. The organizers will review all proposals received and select up to 20 participating teams. You will receive confirmation by email. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Develop the project Once accepted, you will be given the materials and you will have the entire summer to build your project with the support of Qualcomm, Arduino and Edge Impulse.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Publish your project Upload your project to the <a href=\"https:\/\/projecthub.arduino.cc\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Arduino Project Hub<\/a> and send its URL to the organizers by Monday, September 14, 2026. Once submitted, <strong>you will not be able to modify the repository<\/strong> . Make sure everything is ready!  <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Present your project A jury will select the 5 best projects, which will have to make a 10-minute public presentation on Wednesday, September 23rd in the Master&#8217;s Classroom at the UPC. The audience will vote and decide the champion project. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Participation rules and requirements<\/h2>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Equips\"><a href=\"#Equips\"><\/a>Equipment<\/h3>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each team must be made up of between 2 and 4 students enrolled in a degree at the UPC in the 2026\u20132026 academic year.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Priority will be given to choosing teams with students from more than one degree.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Repositori-GitHub\"><a href=\"#Repositori-GitHub\"><\/a>GitHub repository<\/h3>\n\n<p>The repository must be public and must include:<\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The complete source code of the project (and also of any other artifacts needed for it such as 3d prints or designed PCBs)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A presentation video between 4 and 5 minutes long that describes the project (motivation, solution, demonstration)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A file<code>README.md<\/code> clear and complete with the names and affiliations of all project members<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sufficient documentation to understand and reproduce the project<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<p>In order to provide maximum visibility to the project, the video and project documentation must be in English.<\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"Codi-de-conducta\"><a href=\"#Codi-de-conducta\"><\/a>Code of conduct<\/h3>\n\n<p><strong>Hackestiu<\/strong> is a space for collaboration, learning and mutual respect. All participants commit to: <\/p>\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Act with integrity.  <\/strong>The code, ideas and contents of the project must be the work of the team. The use of external libraries, models or resources is welcome as long as they are properly attributed to the repository. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Respect people.<\/strong>  Respectful treatment is required between participants, organizers, Qualcom staff and jury, both in the competition&#8217;s communication channels and in-person events.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Use the hardware responsibly<\/strong> . The material provided by Qualcomm is for the development of the project.
