Development of infrared imaging sensor technologies

Development of infrared imaging sensor technologies

Description

This project focuses on the development of next-generation, wide-spectrum infrared imaging sensors for application in the fields of automotive, extended reality (XR) and robotics. The main objective is to advance the proprietary QSTACK™ process technology to enable the fabrication of large-scale deployable devices that enhance machine perception. Key activities include the optimization of lithography, etching and thin-layer deposition processes, as well as the implementation of advanced metrology techniques.

Background

Aditya holds a PhD in Photonics from the Institute of Photonic Sciences (ICFO) . His doctoral thesis, titled "Quantum Dot Light Emitters in the Shortwave Infrared Region" , focused on the development of quantum dot-based light-emitting diodes and optical downconverters .

He studied the Erasmus master's degree. Europhotonics at the University of Aix-Marseille, France, and in Karlsruhe Institute of Science and Technology (KIT), Germany. During his master's thesis, he investigated perovskite-based light-emitting diodes. Aditya is a graduate in Nanotechnology from SRM Institute of Science and Technology.

Motivation

This project is an opportunity for Aditya to delve deeper into the field of semiconductor manufacturing and discover first-hand the particularities of large-scale production. It allows him to apply the knowledge and techniques acquired during his master's and doctoral training, especially in processes such as spin-coating , sputtering and ALD, in a real industrial context. At the same time, this experience also helps him expand his skills in the development and optimization of manufacturing processes and understand how his research experience can bring value in an industrial environment.
