Cleanroom process engineering for advanced semiconductor device manufacturing

Cleanroom process engineering for advanced semiconductor device manufacturing

Description

This project focuses on the technical management and optimization of nanofabrication processes in cleanroom environments, directly supporting research in solid-state device manufacturing. The main objective is to ensure the reliability and optimal performance of industrial precision equipment, including sputtering, ALD, PECVD and thermal evaporation systems. Key activities involve the rigorous control of gas systems and cooling mechanisms, as well as calibration and troubleshooting in thin film deposition and lithography, ensuring that experimental accuracy meets the highest standards in the semiconductor industry.

Background

Juan de Dios is a Telecommunications Engineer specialized in Electronics and holds a Master's degree in Micro and Nanotechnology from the UPC. His academic and research background has focused on the development of thin layers for IBC (Interdigitated Back Contact) solar cell structures, an experience that has provided him with a deep mastery of device physics and microfabrication flows. He currently plays a dual role as a process engineer, combining technical support to the clean room infrastructure with active participation in scientific semiconductor research.

Motivation

His motivation stems from the desire to promote sustainable energy solutions through innovation in photovoltaic cells. He firmly believes in developing his own technological capabilities to strengthen the competitiveness of the sector, an objective that leads him to improve manufacturing processes daily. Juan de Dios seeks to generate a significant impact on the performance of devices through technical excellence, contributing to collective progress in the transition towards more efficient solar technologies.
